I'm Richard Giustiniani, founder of Pizza Al Forno. As I’m sure you can tell by my surname, I am from an Italian background! My family come from Larino in Molise in southern Italy and so I have grown up eating the best pizza! In fact, my Nonna was famous in the local community for her pizza. My home is in the heart of Staffordshire, and I am passionate about bringing the traditional southern Italian flavours of our family recipes to a UK clientele.
I have always loved cooking, and have honed my wood-firing skills in my back garden where we have a stone pizza oven, which allows me to experiment with a range of delicious recipes. After many, many pizza parties for our friends & neighbours, I realised I was ready to share my recipes with a wider audience and so Pizza Al Forno was born. It is a truly home grown family business, run by myself and my wife Kim.
I decided to work with a mobile wood-fired pizza oven and kitchen, so that I can bring my pizzas directly to you, and it is portable enough to fit into most spaces, so I can be flexible about where I set up. My great little compact kitchen, with its large oven, was created for me bespoke by a company called Bushman Wood-Fired Ovens, and I can tow it by car. So whether booked for a country wedding, a music festival or a party, my kitchen can be easily parked and ready to go.
I use fresh seasonal ingredients to make the pizzas and so the menu changes with the time of year. But if you have a favourite topping – let me know, and I’ll do my best to make it for you. We all have a favourite pizza after all!
