Catering for Dietary Requirements at Your Wedding: What Couples Need to Know

Planning Wedding Catering for All Your Guests

When planning your wedding, one of the most important considerations is ensuring that all of your guests can enjoy the evening food. Modern weddings often include a variety of dietary requirements, from vegetarian and vegan guests to those requiring gluten-free options.

Thinking about dietary requirements early in the planning process helps ensure that everyone feels included and can enjoy the celebration without compromise.

At Pizza Al Forno, we regularly cater weddings across Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Shropshire and the West Midlands, and dietary requirements are something we help couples manage at almost every event.

Catering for Vegetarian Wedding Guests

Vegetarian guests are easily catered for with a range of delicious pizza options that are just as popular as our meat-based choices.

Some of our most popular vegetarian pizzas include:

• Margherita
• Brie & Caramelised Onion
• Spinach, Garlic & Mushroom
• Veggie

By offering a selection of vegetarian pizzas as part of your evening catering, guests can enjoy the same freshly cooked experience as everyone else.

Vegan Wedding Catering Options

Vegan guests should never feel like an afterthought when it comes to wedding catering.

Alongside vegan cheese and our vegan-friendly menu options, we are always happy to discuss alternative toppings and combinations that may not appear on our standard menu.

At a recent vegan celebration, guests enjoyed a wide variety of toppings including mixed peppers, courgette and jalapeños, with the choice of vegan cheese or simply a colourful combination of vegetables finished with chilli-infused oil or garlic oil.

One of the advantages of wood-fired pizza catering is its flexibility. We can often create bespoke vegan options that allow guests to enjoy the same freshly cooked experience as everyone else.

Gluten-Free Wedding Catering

Gluten-free catering is one of the most common dietary requirements we are asked about.

We offer gluten-free pizza bases and always encourage couples to let us know guest numbers in advance. Wherever possible, we ask gluten-free guests to pre-order their chosen pizza so we can prepare and cook it before regular service begins.

This allows us to prepare gluten-free pizzas in an environment with a lower risk of cross-contamination, before cooking and serving them separately. We then box them individually so guests can easily identify their pizza.

However, because all pizzas are prepared within the same working environment and cooked in the same oven, we cannot guarantee a completely gluten-free product. We are always happy to discuss individual requirements and help guests make informed choices.

Why Advance Notice Is Important

Knowing dietary requirements before your wedding helps ensure service runs smoothly on the day.

We recommend confirming:

• Gluten-free guest numbers
• Vegan guest numbers
• Any allergies or specific dietary requirements

Having this information in advance allows us to prepare appropriately and ensure everyone receives the best possible experience.

For gluten-free guests in particular, advance notice allows us to discuss pre-orders and prepare pizzas before regular service begins.

Making Every Guest Feel Included

One of the biggest advantages of wood-fired pizza catering is that guests with dietary requirements can enjoy the same style of food as everyone else. Rather than receiving a completely different meal, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free guests can still be part of the shared dining experience, helping everyone feel included in the celebration.

You can learn more about why this style of catering works so well in our guide to Why Wood-Fired Pizza is Perfect for Weddings.

For many couples, this is an important part of creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere on their wedding day.
